Sgraffito Collection–Petite Sgraffito Cup&Grand Sgraffito Cup

Hand-Scraped Gradient Green Porcelain Gaiwan Set

One cup for stillness. Two cups for poetry.
With hand as guide and needle as pen, this pair captures the color of spring hills and the soul of craftsmanship in two delicate teacups.

The Sgraffito Cup is crafted using the traditional Sgraffito Collection. Artisans use fine needles to hand-carve intricate patterns into the glazed surface before firing—each line shaped by touch, with subtle variations in pressure and rhythm. No molds, no transfers, no mass production—only the quiet dialogue between hand, clay, and time.

The cups are glazed in a soft gradient of green, fading from pale mint at the base to deep jade near the rim. Like morning mist rising over fresh bamboo groves or dew on new leaves, the hue shifts with the light, evoking the serenity of nature.

The hand-etched floral or wave-like motifs, revealed through the scraping process, emerge subtly from the glaze, like ripples on water or winding vines. Because each line is physically carved, the texture is slightly recessed, perceptible to the touch, and creates a rich interplay of light and shadow. This is craftsmanship with breath, with presence.

This set features a thoughtful large-and-small design:

  • Grand Sgraffito Cup (approx. 60ml): Ideal as a host's cup, offering a full, balanced sip for slow, mindful tasting.
  • Petite Sgraffito Cup (approx. 50ml): Delicate and dainty, perfect for sampling tea, serving guests, or savoring a quiet moment alone.

Together, they form a harmonious pair—complementary in size, unified in beauty. Rooted in Eastern aesthetics, they embody the philosophy of "harmony in difference", making them perfect for quiet reflection or shared tea moments with a loved one.

Fired at 1300°C, the porcelain is dense, durable, and lead-free. The glossy surface is smooth to the touch, easy to clean, and built for daily use without compromising elegance.

More than just a teacup set—this is a wearable piece of art for the tea ritual.
Ideal for tea ceremonies, personal collection, or as a refined gift for weddings, housewarmings, teacher appreciation, or meaningful connections.
